60 PIERCE / SPRING 2016 CLASS NOTES for helping my dreams come true. Go Ravens!" Ian Shif '99 writes, "I was recently promoted to Sr. Regional Manager for San Diego/Orange County territory for Proofpoint Inc., (NSDQ-PFPT) selling IT Security solutions into enterprise accounts in the area. Enjoying the weather and coastal lifestyle in San Diego (moved here in 2001) with my wife, Beth, and kids, Claire (7 going on 17) and Thomas (5). I also have room in my kids' playhouse in the backyard for visiting alumni." Karen "Theresa" Zachary '99 is employed at Easter Seals in Manchester, N.H. 00s Michelle (Overin) Barbour '00 writes, "Hey there! I'm living in Connecticut with my husband, Chris, and our two kids, Abbie (14) and Noah (12). I've been an RN for almost seven years and recently began in the NICU at the UConn Health Center after three years with Connecticut Children's Medical Center. Although I've done a 180 from my theater arts focus while at Pierce, I'm looking forward to getting back on stage at some point in the near future. I love catching up with old friends on Facebook!!!" Patrick Dolan '00 received his MBA in Leadership in 2000. He is currently a Lean Operations Manager for 3M in Methuen, Mass. He is living in Newton, N.H., with wife Abby and three children, Molly (20), Anna (18), and Liam (17). Elloree (Crowe) Jennings '00 writes, "I'm married with a 3.5-year-old daughter, Holland. I work as a dance teacher and bartender. I'm still involved in theater arts! I'm performing in 'Cabaret' at Marblehead Little Theater in early April." Kara Lippe '00 married Kathryn McKeon in Boston, Mass., on October 21, 2015. Alumni in attendance were Gregory Austin '99, Erika (Goguen) Paradis '99, Bill Paradis '01, Erin (Kelly) Richards '00, Chris Fleming '99, Benjamin Morin '99, Randall Campos '96, Gwen (Wheaton) Campos '96, Andrew Rosenthal '99, Elizabeth Bardasz '99, and Christopher Fernandes '96. Charles Lyle '00 reports, "Since graduating from FPU with the class of 2000 and a degree in CIS, I have left my Information Technology job with 3M after 30 years and purchased the Benjamin Prescott Inn in Jafrey. The Inn incidentally was founded by another Pierce alumnus, Richard Rettig. My wife, Sue, and I ran the Inn successfully for nine years. Franklin Pierce University was, by far, our number one customer. We hosted parents of students and their families, visiting speakers, alumni, the parents of prospective students, Raven team members, and had the honor of hosting Dr. DiPietro and his lovely wife for a whole week as he worked on his memoirs. One morning, Governor Peterson came to have breakfast with Dr. DiPietro, and they talked and talked about the history of the school and both their terms as president while I served them cof- fee until 2:30 in the afternoon. After 30 years at 3M and the next decade dedicated to the Inn and my guests, I have now entered Act III as an account executive in sales at the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript newspaper. My sales territory at the paper just happens to include Rindge, N.H., so now I fnd myself again in the hallowed halls of FPU helping the school to get its message out to the local readers and beyond. More than just a local paper, the parent company, Newspapers of New England owns papers throughout New England and NNEdigital can target ads on the web to whomever the marketing director wishes to reach. So thank you, Franklin Pierce University, for being there for me through every phase of my professional career, and for the many friendships I have made and continue to make along the way." Mariarose Pawlyk '00 writes, "Just saying hi to all FPC Grads; Hello to FPU Grads. I am still around. Just saying hi." Jennifer (Masnik) Bergstrom writes '01 , "I married my husband, Shawn Bergstrom, on 9/4/10. Alumna Andrea Beaudette '01 was one of my maids of honor, and alumnus Reid Jefrey, and his wife Lauren, were also in attendance. My husband and I welcomed our frst child, Luke Allen Bergstrom, on 3/27/14. We bought our second home on 11/3/15 in Spencer, Mass. I have been working for the Seven Hills Foundation for 14 years in December. I'm also certifed to teach Group Blast and Silver Sneakers." Kevin Shirvell '01 is living in Huntington, N.Y., and working as a special education teacher and special needs advancement counselor. John Casamassima '02 writes, "I was recently promoted to Vice President at Eaton Vance Management where I've worked for nine years." Trent Spiner '07 got engaged to his best friend, Kate Giaquinto, of Hudson, N.H., at a surprise party in a secret speakeasy bar in Manchester, N.H., surrounded by their friends and family. The couple is set to be wed in 2016. Fong Ha '99 reports, "Well, this summer we took a family vacation to Iceland. Instead of joining the tour or staying in the hotel, we rented a car and camped all nine days. It was amazing—beautiful country and safe. My daughter, Lesley (25), bought a house seven miles from me. It is nice house and the part best is we can see each other often—just a phone call and we will be there in fve minutes. My son, Brandon (18), attends Boston University and is majoring Computer Sciences. He doing well. My younger son, Justin, turned 16 in January. He is in tenth grade. He is doing well both academically and athletically. I am still working at the same company that I have been at since November 1987."
