42 PIERCE / FALL 2016 ALUMNI PRESIDENT'S LETTER I'M DELIGHTED TO OFFER YOU an update and greetings from your Alumni Association Board of Directors (AABOD). As President of the Franklin Pierce University Alumni Association, it's my pleasure to lead the board committees in support of our ongoing mission: "to engage and foster strong lifelong bonds between the University and its alumni body." As I prepare this update, I look back quite proudly on our accomplishments. We've had a year of successes, with increased alumni and student engagement, scholarship and alumni financial support, and a home run Alumni Reunion Weekend. Alumni pride is as high as ever! Our goal for the coming academic year is to sustain what we've accomplished, while driving new success stories. This is our University! Our AABOD mem- bers represent Pierce well and you can be proud of their commitment to represent you. We have outstanding support from our Alum- ni & Parent Relations office, staff, faculty, and administration across the University, and we very much look forward to working closely with President Kim Mooney '83. Your AABOD and volunteer committee members work to further Franklin Pierce's reputation and success. We respect and honor Pierce history, but we must also be open and flexible in recognizing the changing needs of the University and our alumni. Over the past year, we've shared with you many ways that alumni involvement and support can help drive success. The Alumni Association Board of Directors tackles a wide area of need and value. So how can you help? The answers are easier than you might think. Be champions of Franklin Pierce and direct students here that you know will thrive (family, friends, neighbors, etc.). Share your success stories. Alumni excitement and presence on campus carries significant value to our students, and we are invited "home" as often as possible. Your involvement increases the prestige of our University. Alumni support celebrates our history and ensures the future, so Franklin Pierce can continue to to help a new genera- tion of students succeed. Lastly, your financial support is critical as the challenges for our small, private New England University re- main real. Every dollar raised helps the Uni- versity meet its prior- ity needs: operational, capital fundraising, and endowment sup- port. Financial support in an amount as small as your weekly coffee money can make a dif- ference to ensure that Franklin Pierce has a more solid foundation for its future. The step you take to write a check to the University within your means of giving has immediate benefit and value. There's absolutely a ripple effect with alumni support, involvement, and stewardship. Let's make this a banner year for alumni engagement, and support President Mooney's efforts to ensure Franklin Pierce's strong presence now and into the future. Thanks so much for your support and thank you in advance for your help. BOB RILEY '82 PRESIDENT, ALUMNI ASSOCIATION Forging Bonds and Celebrating Success Left: Alumni Board members, Josh Sigsworth '07, DPT '10, Dave Masse '83, Rocky, Bob Riley '82 and Henry Ellis '69. Spread: Pearly Pond.
